Description

The Focke-Wulf Entwurf III was a design for a German interceptor from the decline of World War II. The machine has never been tested, much less entered production. The propulsion was to be provided by a single Heinkel HeS 011 turbojet engine. The maximum speed was supposed to reach 950-960 km / h. The deck armament was to consist of two 30mm MK108 cannons.
Design work on the Focke-Wulf Entwurf III began at the turn of 1944 and 1945, and the new machine was to be a development of the Focke-Wulf Entwurf II. Both planes were conceptually similar - they were to be rather small and assumed the use of wings with a relatively large slant, which was to increase the maximum speed. It was assumed that the Focke-Wulf Entwurf III would be a classic interceptor capable of engaging in air combat primarily with Allied strategic bomber formations flying over Germany. The plane, however, never got past the design stage.
