Description
Arado Project II was a project of a German heavy fighter from the end of World War II. The machine has never been tested, much less entered production. The propulsion was to be provided by two Heinkel HeS 011A or BMW0003 A-1 turbojet engines. The maximum speed was to reach 775 km / h. The deck armament was to consist of 4 to 8 20 or 30 mm cannons. The Arado Project II aircraft was designed as a heavy night fighter and capable of operating in all weather conditions. Presumably, given its powerful armament, it was assumed that its main enemy would be formations of Allied strategic bombers flying over Germany. Arado Project II was also designed as a machine with wings with a large slant and a pressurized cabin, intended for three crew members. Interestingly, the cabin was equipped with ejected seats. The plane, however, never got past the design stage.
